The instructions in Your Surgery Preparation Calendar are designed to help you prepare for your same-day surgery or inpatient surgery at EvergreenHealth Surgical Care - Blue (EvergreenHealth Medical Center).
Preparing for Your Surgery
If you and your doctor decide that day surgery is the best option for you, your doctor’s office will schedule a surgery time with EvergreenHealth Surgery Care – Tan.
Pre-Admission Interview
A pre-admission nurse will contact you by telephone two to three days prior to surgery. In the event that you have not heard from us by the day before surgery, please contact the pre-admission nurse at (425) 899-5659.
During this interview, the nurse will review your health history, medications and supplements, and explain what to expect the day of your surgery. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions you might have.
If any screening tests are needed, they will be scheduled prior to your surgery.

Pregnancy
If there is a possibility you may be pregnant, be sure to notify your surgeon and obstetrician in advance. Your pregnancy status should also be mentioned to the pre-admission nurse during the telephone call and your anesthesiologist at the time of the pre-operational evaluation. Certain medications and anesthetics are potentially harmful to the developing fetus, especially during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.
Day Before Your Surgery
If your surgery will require general anesthesia or intravenous sedation, you are required to have no food or drink after midnight. You will also need to have adult supervision for 24 hours after the procedure.
If you have a cold, acute illness or have been exposed to a communicable disease, please contact us prior to the day of surgery at 425.899.5659.
Should You Need More Care
There are no overnight facilities at EvergreenHealth Surgery Care – Tan. In the rare event that you should require additional care, your doctor may choose to admit you to EvergreenHealth Medical Center until you are ready to go home.
