EvergreenHealth Medical Center Named Among Nation's 100 Great Community Hospitals
The 2024 Great Community Hospitals List is based on nominations and editorial research conducted by Becker's Healthcare.
KIRKLAND, Wash. – EvergreenHealth Medical Center is named among the country's 100 Great Community Hospitals for 2024 by Becker's Hospital Review. EvergreenHealth and the other hospitals honored were selected for improving the health of their communities, staying focused on personalized care and clinical excellence.

EvergreenHealth Medical Center was created by district residents to meet the evolving needs of the Eastside community with the most advanced care and technology. As a public hospital district, EvergreenHealth is led by a publicly elected Board of Commissioners, and each official is accountable to the community for the services the hospital provides.
EvergreenHealth's services are financially supported in part by the community. Because of the district's funding, the hospital is able to provide services beyond clinical care, performing community health outreach, education and services that benefit the community as a whole. These include free programs like the Community Healthcare Access Team, a team of social workers who connect low-income, underinsured and uninsured residents to access health information, resources and referrals. EvergreenHealth is also able to support youth mental health initiatives and advanced education across local school districts thanks to the community's funding.
EvergreenHealth being placed among the 100 great community hospitals is just the latest recognition for the community-owned hospital. Most recently, EvergreenHealth earned its 11th consecutive 'A' Hospital Safety Grade from the Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit that upholds the highest standard for patient safety excellence in hospitals. In March 2024, EvergreenHealth was recognized among just 17 hospitals nationwide for providing the highest quality care for individuals with diabetes.
