EvergreenHealth Earns 12th Consecutive "A" Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group
The "A" Hospital Grade for fall 2024 is a national recognition for patient safety.
KIRKLAND, WA—EvergreenHealth has been awarded an "A" Hospital Safety Grade for the 12th consecutive time by The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit upholding the standard for excellence in patient safety in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. EvergreenHealth has earned the "A" Grade for safety from Leapfrog for 6 years in a row (2019-2024).
"This recognition over the last 6 years from The Leapfrog Group is a testament to our shared commitment to serving our community with high-quality, safe and compassionate care," said EvergreenHealth CEO Ettore Palazzo, MD, FACP. "The providers and staff at EvergreenHealth continually achieve the highest standards for delivering exceptional patient safety and care. Everyone across our hospital system continuously demonstrates excellence, working as a team with our patients to positively impact the health and wellness of our entire community."
With the announcement of the Fall Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades, EvergreenHealth is now one of just 13 hospitals in the country with Healthgrades America's 50 Best Hospital designation, CMS 5 Star and Leapfrog "A" Hospital Safety Grade.
Leapfrog assigns an "A" through "F" grade to all general hospitals across the country based on over 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program exclusively based on hospital prevention of medical errors and harm to patients. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually in the fall and spring.
"Achieving an "A" Hospital Safety Grade is a significant accomplishment for EvergreenHealth," said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. "It reflects enormous dedication to your patients and their families, and your whole community should be proud. I extend my congratulations to EvergreenHealth, its leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for their tireless efforts to put patients first."
