EvergreenHealth Achieves 10 Consecutive 'A' Hospital Safety Grades from The Leapfrog Group
EvergreenHealth has earned the national recognition for 5 years in a row
Kirkland, WA – EvergreenHealth has been awarded an "A" Hospital Safety Grade for the 10th consecutive time by The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit upholding the standard for excellence in patient safety in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers.
"For every doctor, provider, staff member and volunteer across our hospital system, safety is a top priority and is a big part of everything we do," said EvergreenHealth Chief Medical & Quality Officer Ettore Palazzo, MD. "We have remained steadfast in our commitment to improving the well-being of our patients and community no matter the day-to-day challenges we face. I am very proud of what we have and continue to achieve."
Leapfrog assigns an "A" through "F" grade to all general hospitals across the country based on over 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program exclusively based on hospital prevention of medical errors and harm to patients. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually in the fall and spring.
"Earning an 'A' Grade means EvergreenHealth made a true commitment to put patients first," said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. "We congratulate the leadership, Board, clinicians, staff and volunteers that all had a role to play in this achievement."
