Welcoming a baby is an exciting time for families. These classes are designed to help strengthen relationships, improve communication and help the whole family prepare for this life change together.


Bringing Baby Home – Relationship Skills for Couples

[Virtual and in-person classes available] This 4-week series will teach new parents and expectant parents how to increase relationship satisfaction, avoid "marital meltdown," and appreciate and cope with the normal stressors of becoming a family. This program has evolved from 40+ years of family and marriage research by Dr. John Gottman. 

Fee does not includes certified take-home materials. The required Bringing Baby Home digital class materials must be purchased separately before the first class from the Gottman Institute at https://www.gottman.com/product/bringing-baby-home/.

Body Safety for Kids: What Parents Need to Know

[In-person] This dynamic class will focus on how parents talk to children about their bodies, sex, love and relationships as well as critical safety and consent education. Content includes: the importance of teaching correct anatomical names for body parts, how to empower children with safe physical and personal and relational boundaries. We will also cover the risks and benefits of cell phones and appropriate internet use, as part of broader prevention education. Taught by Christy Keating, J.D, PCI Certified Parent Coach® and Founder of The Heartful Parent Collective.

Audience: Parents with children from toddler age through 5th grade.

Conscious Fathering

[In-person] Expectant and new fathers are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to build a strong, nurturing parent/child relationship from the first moments of their baby's life.

New fathers learn to anticipate their baby's five basic needs through hands-on instruction and practice. Taught by a parent educator.

Parent-Baby Groups

Since 1991, EvergreenHealth's popular Parent-Baby Groups have been providing education and support for new families who are welcoming their baby. Discussions include feeding, relationships, postpartum adjustment, developmental stages, sleep and more.

Join us to share parenting successes and challenges—and to get practical, hands-on information to make the journey a little easier. Taught by lactation and early parenting educators.

Each session includes a specific topic and time for discussion and questions about anything and everything baby.

Snugglers (0 - 3 months)
Wednesdays - 12:30 - 2:30 p.m.

Gigglers (3 - 6 months)
Wednesdays - 10 - 11:30 a.m.

Movers (6 - 9 months)
Thursdays - 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Explorers (9 - 12 months)
Thursdays - 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Shakers (12 - 15 months)
Thursday - 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Audience: Parents with babies 0 – 15 months old. Available to all new families, regardless of where you gave birth.

This Is Not What I Expected

[Virtual class] This nurturing support group is for families who are feeling overwhelmed and/or struggling with the transition to parenthood. It is led by educators trained to support parents through these challenges. Leaders are skilled at directing parents to community resources to help cope with postpartum adjustment and mood disorders.

You may want to consider joining this group if you feel anxious, isolated, sad, depressed, irritable, are having difficulty sleeping and want to learn more about postpartum mood disorders.

The group meets virtually the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month, from 7-9 p.m. Fee: free. For more information, email Community Health Education or call (425) 544-0050 M-F 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
