Take these Welcoming Baby Childbirth Preparation classes during pregnancy so you'll know what to expect – and how to plan – for life with baby. There's even a class for grandparents!


Breastfeeding and Pumping Basics

Learn about breast/chest feeding your baby as recommended by all of the world's health organizations. Topics include the benefits of breastfeeding, anatomy, feeding cues, establishing a good latch, feeding positions, ways for partners to be supportive, how to pump, pump options, human milk storage, building a supply for going back to work, tips and tricks for success, breastfeeding/pumping supplies and resources.

Class instructor is a trained lactation educator.

We recommend that all first-time parents take this in-depth class to augment the breastfeeding information they will get in their Delivery Day classes and the Day About Baby class.

Breastfeeding Your Older Baby

[Virtual class] This class provides support and education for moms who are continuing to breastfeed beyond the first six months. It's a lively discussion about the cumulative health benefits of continued breastfeeding for both mom and baby, cultural pressures, developmental challenges, weaning and more. Included is best practice information as suggested by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the World Health Organization. Non-mobile babies only. 

The class is facilitated by a trained lactation educator.

Day About Baby

[In-person classes and private options available] A fun, interactive and informative class where couples will get hands-on learning about diapering, bathing, soothing, infant carriers, an introduction to breastfeeding and more.

Car Seat Safety

In this baby safety class, you will learn best practice recommendations to help your child travel safely, how to choose the best car seat for your baby and family, and how to correctly install the car seat.

If you have already purchased a car seat, bring it with you, but it's not necessary to purchase one before attending. Our instructors will provide you with information about features to look for when purchasing a car seat.

Car Seat Check & Install

You have a car seat, but is it being used properly? Certified child passenger safety technicians will walk you through how to use your car seat, teach you how to install it correctly in your vehicle, and show you how to properly buckle your child.

Bring your car seat, the instruction manual and vehicle owner's manual to your check-up appointment.

Infant and Child CPR

Learn CPR for your baby's safety. Participants receive a CPR Card valid for two years. Does not include First Aid. Must be over 12 years of age to take class.

This class is not currently offered.


Infant Safety and CPR

[Virtual and in-person classes available] For parents, grandparents and caregivers. Everything new or expectant caregivers need to know about keeping their baby safe at home and at play is packed into this two hour class!

We'll teach you the basics of preventing accidents based on the latest best practice recommendations. Topics include basic child development, safe sleep recommendations, car seat basics, medication safety, and baby-proofing and home safety.

This class will include an infant CPR and choking rescue demonstration by the instructor. This is NOT a certification class.

Parent-Baby Groups

Since 1991, EvergreenHealth's popular Parent-Baby Groups have been providing education and support for new families who are welcoming their baby. Discussions include feeding, relationships, postpartum adjustment, developmental stages, sleep and more.

Join us to share parenting successes and challenges—and to get practical, hands-on information to make the journey a little easier. Taught by lactation and early parenting educators.

Body Safety for Kids: What Parents Need to Know

[In-person] This dynamic class will focus on how parents talk to children about their bodies, sex, love and relationships as well as critical safety and consent education. Content includes: the importance of teaching correct anatomical names for body parts, how to empower children with safe physical and personal and relational boundaries. We will also cover the risks and benefits of cell phones and appropriate internet use, as part of broader prevention education. Taught by Christy Keating, J.D, PCI Certified Parent Coach® and Founder of The Heartful Parent Collective.

Audience: Parents with children from toddler age through 5th grade.
