Experience

Dr. Steven Montague taught high school music for 10 years before realizing his long-held dream of attending medical school. During his residency at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, he helped design and open a new Swedish Family Practice Clinic.
During his four years in the US Air Force, he practiced full spectrum family medicine and led an elite medical team trained to care for US personnel involved in the early phases of foreign deployments.
He left the Air Force in 1999 and joined a primary care practice in Woodinville. In early 2014, the practice became EvergreenHealth Signature Care, where Dr. Montague practices an innovative form of personalized medical care.

I treat the full spectrum of family medicine with special interest in sports medicine and minor surgical procedures.

Philosophy of Care

My role as physician is one of advocate, teacher, counselor and friend. The practice of medicine should always be a personalized experience, taking into account your unique needs.

Personal Information

Practicing primary care medicine has been a wonderful experience for me. Running into patients at the grocery store, gym, restaurant or while out walking my two charming but energetic dogs, helps me to know my patients better and feel a part of their lives. 
I often take time for music, playing in a brass group at church and in a dance band made up of a few close friends. My wife Debbie has a doctorate in music education and is the best teacher I have ever known.
Our children are grown, but still love to go with us to Disneyland once in a while where we can all be kids again.

Community Involvement

My interest in sports medicine was kindled by experiences volunteering as a coach, umpire and team physician with local youth teams. I was also fortunate to be asked to provide medical support for a large group of college and high school musicians from all over the world chosen to play at the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
I am actively involved in an annual benefit performance for a local children's theatre and helped line up performers for the gala opening of the Northshore Performing Arts Center.
