Philosophy of Care

While I have enjoyed taking care of the ethnically-diverse women of Hawaii, including tourists who have the misfortune of being admitted during their baby-moon, I am excited to share my experience and knowledge in caring for the women in Washington. I believe that it is important to spend the time counseling you and your family and trying to understand your perspective in order to provide optimal care.

Personal Information

I was born and raised in Hilo, Hawaii and completed medical school, residency and fellowship training at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu.  I was inspired to pursue a career medicine after having to go to the doctor frequently as a child for various medical problems. I admired my doctors and wanted to provide the same excellent care that they provided me. Through a series of serendipitous events, I found myself relocating to Washington state and I am privileged to join the team at Eastside Maternal Fetal Medicine.
I love that you can do pretty much everything in Washington, like visiting the beach, spending time in Lake Washington, going to the mountains, hiking, snowboarding, going to professional sports games and visiting wineries.  I am looking forward to being able to drive to different places for vacation, such as Canada and Oregon.  I also love autumn and I enjoy seeing the leaves change color, which is something I didn’t really get to see in Hawaii.
During my free time, I love doing yoga and HIIT workouts, traveling, hiking, going to the beach, watching Korean dramas, doing happy hours with friends, eating at new restaurants, trying fancy and exotic ice cream flavors, and making my own ice cream.
