Dr. Adam Rothenberg is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in total hip, total knee and partial knee replacement surgery. With extensive training in robotic-assisted techniques, he focuses on using minimally invasive approaches and patient specific instrumentation to achieve the best results for his patients. Dr. Rothenberg also has advanced training in performing complex hip and knee arthroplasty revisions. Before joining EvergreenHealth in 2019, Dr. Rothenberg was an attending surgeon at UPMC Presbyterian trauma center in Pittsburgh and the VA Pittsburgh hospital. He has served as the medical director of the EvergreenHealth Orthopedics & Sports Care Total Joint Program since 2022. He also educates other orthopedic surgeons on how to perform advanced robotic surgery techniques.

Personal Information

I grew up in Eagle, Idaho where I enjoyed playing baseball, alpine skiing, hiking, whitewater rafting and rock climbing. After obtaining a religion degree at Duke University, I returned to the Pacific Northwest for medical school at the University of Washington School of Medicine, where I was fortunate to meet the love of my life. Together, we spent seven years completing our specialty medical training at the University of Pittsburgh. We returned to the area in 2019 and since our family has grown with the addition of our children, Sloane and Conrad, and our doodles, Brooks and Sage. We love hiking, skiing, boating and family trips to Lake Roosevelt and beyond.

Dr Rothenberg was very supportive of my double knee replacement, and provided exercise equipment and physical therapy support which he monitored. I am very happy with the results of the surgery and able to resume an active life with tennis, golf, aqua fit exercises, walking

I wrote the following online review for Dr. Rothenberg: I give Dr. Rothenberg my highest recommendation for anyone needing hip replacement surgery. I could not have had a more positive experience or outcome. Besides his ability as a surgeon, he has organized a system/collaborates with a team that provides education and support from the diagnostic appointment to at least the 6-week post-op appointment. Besides his medical expertise/remaining updated with cutting-edge techniques and data, he communicates well with patients, thoroughly answers al questions, and encourages their knowledge and agency regarding the entire process.

The patient passport in addition to Force, the joint replacement class and all follow-up information is exceptional. As a patient I've felt more informed and included as part of the care team (as opposed to just having the surgery being done to me) than I've ever previously experienced.

The Dr went way beyond.he took time to listen, worked to find me a new PCP with a visit the following week. Helped by scheduling with another provider to get a shot for my hip. He gave me a shot of cortisone in my knee too. He took time to talk to me about options for my knee prior to the shot given. He was genuine in his concern for my situation.
