Personal Information

I was born and raised in Iran and came to the US in my early 20s. I chose medicine as a career because it's emotionally intense to help me be more empathetic, intellectually challenging to keep me humble and culturally dynamic to keep my passion alive.
I love the diversity in this area along with the outdoors. I enjoy hiking with my husband and son, and gardening with my son.

Dr. Khalaj is a very thorough, attentive internist, and I credit Dr. Khalaj with diagnosing an issue I've dealt with for a number of years that other providers were unable to diagnose. I appreciate her detailed attention to my medical record, and proactive approach.

She showed genuine interest and concern about my health issues such as blood sugar, foot neuropathy, and put me at ease when we discussed possible solutions to my E. D. In a productive way did not embarrass me. She always gives me eye contact and is pleasant each visit she greets me.

Dr Kalaj is an excellent provider. She is great listener, articulate, and provides guidance and effective treatment options. She is compassionate and kind, and definitely an asset to Evergreen Internal Medicine. If she left, I would go elsewhere.

Dr. Khalaj was unbelievably helpful and was able to provide me with information and referrals that I had been seeking for months without any luck. She took me seriously and actually listened to my problems, and has set me up to start figuring out a long standing issue I have been having that other doctors have overlooked. I could not recommend her enough.

I'm so happy to have found Dr Khalaj. At 45, I've met a fair few doctors. Dr Khalaj puts you at ease. You feel like it's a partnership when embarking on medical treatment for something. I am needle phobic and medical appts cause me stress but there is no judgement when I come in. I feel heard and I don't hesitate to bring up any concerns I have about my health.

Dr. Khalaj actually took more time with me than I had scheduled because of the new medication options. We discused 3 options because 1of them is frequently denied by insurance. She wanted to give me thorough information so that I completely understood my options. So happy she did, because of course, her first choice was denied by insurance. If she hadn't taken the extra time at this appointment, I would have had to schedule another appointment ! She is by far, the best most attentive Dr I have ever had!

I feel very dismissed by this provider. If I state a concern, it's often brushed off until I offer a solution. My provider should be brainstorming solutions with me, and not dismissing me.
