Animal-Assisted Therapy Teams
Don't be surprised if you run across a friendly four-legged member of our team when you visit EvergreenHealth.
They are members of EvergreenHealth's Animal-Assisted Therapy program, and they provide companionship and unconditional support for our patients. Their visits help to reduce anxiety, stress, depression, blood pressure and the feeling of isolation.
Along with their handlers, the pets visit patients throughout our medical center and hospice center in Kirkland. You can request a hospital visit by calling the volunteer department (425) 899-1994; hospice patients and families can ask the staff.
