The EvergreenHealth Board of Commissioners
EvergreenHealth is King County Public Hospital District No. 2 with a governing Board of Commissioners that is made up of seven members. Each member is elected by voters within the district to a six-year term. This means EvergreenHealth is a community-created and community-owned government entity that has been granted authorization by state law to provide health services to residents within the public hospital district and anyone seeking health care services.
The Board provides governance and accountability for EvergreenHealth's mission, vision and purpose, quality, service and overall effectiveness through collaboration and counsel to the system's Chief Executive Officer.

The Appointment
This appointment to Commissioner Position #2 is for an interim period between date of appointment to December 31, 2025. If appointed, you may choose to run for office in the 2025 general election, which has a filing deadline of May 2025.

Board Member Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a resident of King County Public Hospital District #2 (KCPHD#2)
- Be a registered King County voter
- Complete a disclosure of conflicts of interest
- Not be employed by KCPHD#2
- Be willing to provide public disclosure per RCW 42.56 Public Records Act (e.g., Personal Financial Affairs Disclosure (F-1))
- Adhere to EvergreenHealth's vaccination requirements
Board Member Expectations
Applicants must meet the following expectations:
- Be engaged in the community, with a track record of community service
- Understand and honor the role of governance
- Support EvergreenHealth's commitment to diversity
- Be willing to serve approx. 25-35 hours/month, which includes but is not limited to attending two Board meetings a month (Board Educational and Board Business Meeting), attending Committee meetings, meeting preparation, training, and continuing education.
If appointed, applicants will be required to:
- Attend all commissioner-related meetings unless excused by the chair
- Complete an annual Conflict of Interest Attestation & Disclosure Statement
- Complete all necessary training
- Complete and file the disclosure form for the Public Disclosure Commission
- Comply with all applicable laws
- Serve on standing internal committees unless excused by the chair

All commissioners are:
- Offered medical, dental and vision insurance for self and eligible dependents; must pay premiums
- Entitled to compensation as set and adjusted by statute. See RCW 70.44.050 for more information
The Board will vote on this appointment at the Board Educational open public meeting on September 6, 2024, and the appointee will be notified thereafter.
